People who care for the Earth don’t wait for change — they make it. This Saturday, step forward and show the planet what you stand for.
Why This Matters
Highways don’t just move cars. They cut across rivers and wetlands, pass through neighborhoods, and edge vital habitat. When litter piles up, it doesn’t stay put. Wind and rain push it into storm drains and streams where it harms wildlife, degrades water quality, and sends the message that neglect is acceptable.
Showing up tells a different story — that you respect the places you live in, that you believe small efforts stack into big change, that you’re willing to act. That spirit is what turns volunteers into Earth heroes.
Event Details
- Check-in: 11:50 AM so we can start on time
- Safety gear & supplies: Provided on site (vests, gloves, bags, grabbers)
- Who can join: 18+ may clean the highways and outlet areas with us. Younger children (the “little tikes”) are welcome to help clean the Park & Ride staging area for safety, but not the Adopted Highway site itself.
- What to bring: Closed-toe shoes, sun protection, a full water bottle
Your time is the most valuable thing you can give. Two hours of focused effort with a small crew removes a surprising amount of waste and sets a standard others notice.
Why You Rock
You don’t need a cape to be a hero. You need conviction, then action. Every bag you fill keeps plastic out of waterways and wildlife. Every minute you invest builds momentum in your community. People see you picking up litter and rethink what they drop. That ripple effect is real.
This is how restoration happens — steady work from people who care. Show up, lead by example, invite a friend, and watch the impact multiply.
What We’ve Achieved Together
82,487 lbs Removed
Since 2020 our volunteers cleared trash from beaches, rivers, and roadways across the region.
38,543 lbs Recycled
We prioritize recovery and proper sorting to keep materials in circulation.
River & Highway Wins
From the San Diego River corridor to Adopt-A-Highway segments, consistent effort drives consistent results.
How the Day Will Flow
- Check-in and quick orientation
- Safety briefing and supply handout
- Team assignments and cleanup sweep
- Weigh-in and photo recap for the Wall of Fame
We’ll track results so your work is counted and celebrated.
Bigger Than a Cleanup
Litter is visible, but it points to deeper habits. When you join EcoServants you help shift culture. You turn care into practice, practice into pride. You show neighbors what stewardship looks like and invite them in.
Bring a friend who’s never volunteered. Invite a colleague who talks about doing more. Momentum grows when people see action up close.
Can’t stay the full two hours? Come for what you can — every bit helps.
