The EcoServants® Grant Writing Internship continues to gain momentum as we work together to secure meaningful funding for environmental change. Our interns are diving deeper each week into the grant writing process—from crafting compelling narratives to understanding what makes a proposal fundable in the eyes of potential donors.
Last week, we held our session on Refining & Editing Grant Narratives for Maximum Fundability, where we explored how to elevate first drafts into persuasive, fundable proposals. We discussed tone, alignment with funder priorities, clarity of impact, and the importance of storytelling backed by measurable outcomes. If you missed the session or would like to review, you can watch the full recap here:

This week’s upcoming session focuses on one of the most critical aspects of grant writing—the budget. A clear, accurate, and well-justified budget can make or break your proposal. Interns will learn how to break down costs, provide explanations for line items, and ensure every dollar requested ties back to the mission and goals of the project.

🎓 Expert-Led Session with Angela Mooney
Angela Mooney will return to guide us through two vital grant components:
- Common Financial Mistakes in Grant Writing – Learn how to avoid red flags that might cause funders to pass over your application.
- Required Grant Attachments – We’ll cover what supporting documents are typically requested, including letters of support, financials, tax documents, and how to prepare each effectively.
These sessions are not only helping our interns become skilled grant writers—they’re directly contributing to EcoServants® projects and the broader movement for environmental conservation and sustainability.
