The Journey of Little EcoSprout

An EcoServants® Story of Faith, Growth, and Green Stewardship

In a quiet valley where the rivers whispered God’s name and the trees lifted their branches in praise, a tiny sprout pushed its way up from the soil. His name was Eli, but everyone in the valley called him Little EcoSprout. He was no ordinary sprout—he had a heart that pulsed with purpose and a soul rooted in something deeper: a calling from God to care for Creation.

From the moment he emerged from the earth, Little EcoSprout was taught by the wind and rain, by the squirrels and birds, and by a wise old oak named Solas. “The Earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it,” Solas often reminded him, quoting Psalm 24:1 with a rustle of his ancient leaves. “We are not owners, but caretakers,” said Solas.

Each day, Little EcoSprout explored the world around him—marveling at the bees that danced over flowers, the mushrooms that quietly cleaned the forest floor, and the clear streams that mirrored the heavens. And each day, he learned more about the balance God had woven into the natural world.

But not everything was in harmony.

As he ventured further from his grove, Little EcoSprout began to see signs of suffering: rivers choked with trash, meadows stripped bare, and animals with sadness in their eyes. His little heart ached. “Why would people do this?” he asked Solas one night.

“Sometimes, when humans forget the Creator,” Solas sighed, “they also forget their sacred duty to protect Creation.”

That night, Little EcoSprout knelt beneath the stars and prayed for strength. He asked God to guide his roots and stretch his spirit. He knew he had to grow—not just in height, but in faith, courage, and wisdom.

Years passed.

Little EcoSprout grew taller, stronger, and wiser. He studied the teachings of Christ, who loved even the sparrow, and remembered the story of Noah, who preserved every kind of creature. He memorized verses like Romans 8:19: “For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” He realized that being a good steward was part of his Christian walk.

He began helping others—planting seeds with younger sprouts, picking up litter along the riverbank, and sharing God’s message of hope and restoration. He taught that composting wasn’t just science, it was redemption. That recycling was an act of faith in the future. That every act of care for the Earth was a prayer in action.

By the time Eli was fully grown, he was no longer called Little EcoSprout.

He was now known as EcoServant—a guardian of the land, a voice for the voiceless, and a bridge between heaven and earth. He founded a community of believers just like him, each one rooted in faith, blossoming with purpose, and bearing the fruits of environmental justice.

Together, they traveled the world, restoring forests, purifying waters, and teaching children the same lesson that began it all: that to love God is also to love His Creation.

And whenever a new sprout was born in the valley, they told the story of Eli—the boy who listened to the trees, followed Christ’s call, and became an EcoServant.

And so the garden grew.

And now, just like Eli, a new generation of EcoSprouts is growing.
