Write for Change: Join the EcoServants® Creative Writing Internship

August 5, 2025 • Ecological Servants Project • General Discussion

Do you believe that stories can spark change? That a well-crafted narrative can inspire someone to pick up trash, protect a forest, or rethink their relationship with the Earth? At EcoServants®, we do too. That’s why we’re inviting writers, students, and storytellers around the world to join our Creative Writing Internship—a remote, mission-driven program where your words become a force for ecological action.

Whether you’re a university creative writing major, a climate-conscious poet, or simply someone who loves writing and wants to make a difference, this internship is a meaningful way to merge your craft with a cause. Your work will appear on EcoBlogs, our official publishing platform, where we spotlight stories about environmental restoration, personal reflections, sustainable solutions, and real-world community efforts across the globe.

We’ve already published articles on topics ranging from permaculture textiles to invasive plant species and fire weather patterns—and now we’re looking for fresh voices to expand this narrative landscape. If you’re ready to write for impact, build your portfolio, and help shift hearts and minds, you’ve found the right place.

Why Join EcoServants®?

EcoServants® is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on ecological restoration, sustainability, and community resilience. Since 2020, we’ve removed over 82,000 lbs of trash, recycled more than 38,000 lbs of waste, and launched global efforts to reduce plastic pollution, educate communities, and mobilize volunteers. As a writer here, you won’t just be chronicling change—you’ll be part of it.

One of our most exciting initiatives is the Community Site Report (CSR) Litter Tracker, a powerful platform that allows users worldwide to log, track, and analyze the waste they clean up. The data supports our long-term sustainability goals and helps policymakers, educators, and activists understand the true scope of global pollution.

As a Creative Writing Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to spotlight real volunteer cleanups, write first-person narratives about conservation efforts, or explore the environmental data behind our work. You might craft a feature on marine debris along the California coast, pen a poem about regeneration, or interview one of our international volunteers working to restore their local ecosystems.
